Biografia
Oriana Ciani è Associate Professor of Practice, Area Management Pubblico e Policy, Economia Sanitaria e HTA presso SDA Bocconi School of Management.
La sua collaborazione con SDA ha inizio nel 2010. Coordina il modulo di Epidemiologia e Sanità Pubblica nel “Master of International Health Care Management, Economics and Politics” (MIHMEP) e insegna in numerosi corsi di formazione per professionisti del settore sanitario sui temi di economia sanitaria e valutazione economica di interventi sanitari.
I suoi interessi di ricerca si focalizzano sull’uso dell’Health Technology Assessment (HTA) nei processi decisionali in sanità, su aspetti metodologici delle valutazioni di tecnologie sanitarie, con particolare riferimento al settore dei dispositivi medici e delle tecnologie digitali, sulla sintesi delle evidenze per informare le scelte di policy. Oriana ha ottenuto il suo PhD presso la University of Exeter Medical School (UK) con una tesi sulla validazione degli esiti surrogati, tema che rimane tra i suoi principali ambiti di interesse. Oriana ha partecipato a numerosi progetti di ricerca nazionali e internazionali, con il coinvolgimento di numerosi partner, come MedTecHTA (FP7 no. 305694), Mapping NCD (FP7 no. 602536) e, COMED (H2020 no.779306). Dal 2023 è coordinatrice del progetto triennale HORIZON Europe HI-PRIX (no. 101095593), su schemi di prezzo e pagamenti innovativi per tecnologie sanitarie.
Nel 2020 Oriana è Fulbright Research Scholar presso la Yale School of Medicine e la Yale School of Public Health. Oriana è Associate Editor di Value in Health e autrice di numerose pubblicazioni di livello internazionale. Il suo studio pubblicato nell’ International Journal of Health Technology Assessment (2015) sui sistemi di HTA per dispositivi medici ha ricevuto il Premio Egon Jonsson nel 2016. Per la sua attività di ricerca ha ricevuto altri riconoscimenti come il Bocconi Research Award (2023), l’Exeter Impact Award (2013), Best Student Podium Presentation Award alla Conferenza ISPOR a Dublino (2013), il premio giovani ricercatori di AIES (2010).
Oriana possiede una Laurea triennale e specialistica in Ingegneria Biomedica conseguita presso il Politecnico di Milano e un Master in Healthcare Management presso SDA Bocconi.
